Overview:

We are looking for a highly organized and technically skilled CAD Data Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of CAD data for exterior trim systems within a vehicle product development environment. The position involves coordinating with engineering teams to ensure accurate, up-to-date CAD information, efficient data management, and alignment with design and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate CAD data for exterior trim systems, ensuring timely updates and accuracy throughout the design and development process.
  • Upload and maintain CAD data within the organization’s designated PLM or KVS systems.
  • Perform part and assembly updates to support manufacturing feasibility, quality improvement, and design changes.
  • Conduct packaging studies and assist engineering in evaluating component fit and integration.
  • Prepare media and visual materials for design and engineering presentations.
  • Support CAD data release activities, ensuring compliance with organizational data control standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supplier teams to incorporate modifications for design, safety, and performance requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity across systems and processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Software Expertise: Proficient in CATIA V6 and V5.
  • Experience: Extensive hands-on experience with sheet metal and plastic component design and assembly modeling.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of body exterior trim systems (e.g., claddings, moldings, emblems, grilles, or other decorative components).
  • Data Management: Proficiency in working with structured CAD and PLM systems for version control, validation, and release processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Capable of conducting packaging studies and resolving geometric compatibility issues.
  • Communication: Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with engineering and supplier partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in automotive body exterior product development.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Familiarity with CAD data workflows, naming conventions, and release protocols in global engineering programs.
