Role Overview
The US Sales & Outreach Lead will spearhead Dorleco’s business development activities across the US automotive and next‑generation mobility ecosystem. This is a high-impact role focused on new business acquisition, strategic outreach, and positioning Dorleco as a trusted engineering partner for companies building electric, autonomous, and software‑defined vehicles.
The ideal candidate combines strong engineering service sales experience with the ability to create compelling pitches around vehicle dynamics, control systems, embedded software, and full‑vehicle platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. US Market Prospecting & Outreach
- Identify and engage potential clients across automotive OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers, EV start-ups, autonomous vehicle companies, and mobility technology innovators.
- Lead targeted outreach through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, and networking channels.
- Build prospect lists aligned with services in mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software engineering.
2. Lead Generation & Opportunity Development
- Conduct in‑depth discovery calls to understand engineering needs in:
- Vehicle dynamics & controls
- AD/ADAS systems
- Powertrain & Battery Management Systems
- Telematics & connectivity
- Chassis, braking, steering, and domain controllers
- Infotainment and OTA ecosystems
- Map customer needs to Dorleco’s service offerings and software engineering solutions.
- Develop qualified opportunities with technical grounding and clear customer requirements.
3. Technical Sales Pitching (Software & Systems Focus)
The candidate will be responsible for crafting and delivering strong sales pitches for:
A. Software Engineering & Controls Solutions
- End‑to‑end vehicle dynamics, modeling, controls, and simulation offerings.
- Model‑based development, embedded software, HIL/MIL validation, and integration services.
B. Platform-Based Solutions for Next‑Gen Mobility
Ability to articulate value propositions for:
- Production-ready Vehicle Control Units (VCUs)
- Prebuilt vehicle software and simulation suites supporting:
- Powertrain
- Battery Management
- AD/ADAS
- Chassis Systems (braking, steering)
- Telematics & connectivity
- OTA updates
- Lighting & Body Control
- Infotainment systems
These solutions help clients accelerate system integration and validation across connected ECUs—a key USP the sales lead must promote clearly and confidently.
C. Partnering with Next-Generation Mobility Companies
Develop relationships and pitch solutions to companies working on:
- Autonomous vehicles
- Electric vehicles (EVs)
- Hybrid systems
- Software-defined vehicles (SDVs)
- Mobility tech platforms and AI-driven vehicle functions
4. Sales Cycle Ownership
- Own the complete sales cycle: Prospecting → Discovery → Proposal → Technical Alignment → Negotiation → Closure.
- Create proposals, capability decks, SOWs, and technical solution outlines with engineering teams.
- Collaborate with delivery heads for technical feasibility and scope definition.
5. Client Relationship & Account Growth
- Build strong relationships with engineering directors, chief engineers, procurement leaders, and program managers.
- Identify opportunities for long-term partnerships, cross-selling, and upselling across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering domains.
6. Reporting & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate sales funnel details, meeting logs, forecasts, and opportunity stages.
- Present weekly and monthly updates on outreach, pipeline health, revenue forecasts, and competitive insights.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Must‑Have
- 5–8 years of US B2B sales experience for engineering or technology services.
- Strong experience in automotive engineering services: CAD, CAE, BIW, product design, embedded systems, or software engineering.
- Understanding of next-gen mobility domains such as EVs, ADAS, controls, telematics, BMS, and software-defined vehicles.
- Proven experience in cold outreach, technical pitching, and converting prospects into revenue.
- Excellent communication suited to US stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in US time zones.
- Hands-on experience with CRM tools.
Preferred
- Experience selling to US OEMs, Tier‑1s, and EV/autonomous start-ups.
- Understanding of ECU integration, validation frameworks, simulation platforms, and control systems.
- Experience selling both engineering projects and technical staffing solutions.
