Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CAD Data Coordinator to support the development and maintenance of CAD data for exterior lighting and related body systems within a vehicle product development environment. The role involves close collaboration with engineering and design teams to ensure data integrity, seamless coordination, and timely release of CAD information across platforms and stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain CAD data for exterior lighting.
  • Ensure proper upload, version control, and release of CAD data within the designated PLM or KVS system.
  • Manage updates to existing parts and assemblies to support manufacturing feasibility, performance improvements, and system integration.
  • Conduct packaging studies and support engineering in evaluating component interfaces.
  • Prepare and provide CAD-based media and visual materials for engineering reviews and presentations.
  • Incorporate CAD models into enterprise systems as per engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with data management processes.
  • Take direction from engineering leads to modify designs for performance, safety, and design intent.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Software Expertise: Proficiency in CATIA V6 and V5.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong background in design of sheet metal components and assemblies.
  • Data Management: Experience working within structured CAD and PLM systems for data release and version control.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to read, write, and communicate technical information in English.
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to perform packaging studies and assess manufacturing feasibility.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and supplier teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise with CATIA V6 and V5.
  • Ability to perform packaging studies.
  • Knowledge of OEM systems.
  • Proficient ability to read, speak, and understand English.
  • Extensive experience in design of sheet metal components and assemblies.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of on-site and remote coordination as required by project milestones.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary to support development or production activities.
