We’re currently searching for a MLP Body Systems Crash DVP & Test Planning Engineer to join our team and strengthen our vehicle development programs with a strong focus on quality, durability, and compliance. This role centers on developing and maintaining DVP&Rs, translating requirements into effective test plans, analyzing CAE simulations, and ensuring test execution aligns with program milestones.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer with deep knowledge of automotive closures and interior testing, FMVSS regulations, and test methodologies such as Door KLT, SAG, Overload Durability, Oil Canning, and Life Cycle testing. Highly organized, detail-driven, and collaborative, this individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring robust validation and reliable performance of our vehicle body systems.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) for body systems.
  • Translate system and component-level requirements into comprehensive test plans.
  • Support DFMEA and DVP&R development and execution.
  • Define test methodologies in alignment with vehicle development programs & milestones.
  • Analyze CAE simulations to identify performance related issues and propose solutions.
  • Deliver efficient test property usage through re-use strategies.
  • Manage, track and deliver any required test property updates and retrofits.
  • Drive delivery of testing to project milestones.
  • Coordinate logistics for prototype vehicles, parts, and fixtures for testing.
  • Ensure quality test reports and proper data collection.
  • Deliver efficient test property usage through re-use strategies.
  • Communicate all test results to the cross functional teams.

Preferred experience and skills

Candidates should have a good knowledge and be familiar with Automotive closures and Interior test requirements and standards.

  • Experience with Door KLT, SAG, Overload Durability, Oil Canning, Floor Pan Deflection, Tie Down Strength testing, Life Cycle testing, and a deep understanding of FMVSS regulations (208, 207, 210, 216, 225) is preferred.
